CHIRP Radio - 107.1FM is a volunteer-driven, independent, community radio station that focuses on music, arts, and culture. CHIRP is a radio station that is all about community and I'm proud to be a volunteer since 2015!
Coming soon - a new website and mobile app!
The new website and apps will feature a unified mobile and desktop experience, a fresh modern design, better navigation, more visual content, and streamlined account management. We’ll also have an improved CarPlay experience for iOS and a Android Auto option as well!
We're updating a lot of other tech and software that helps run the station and enables the DJ's to get the music out on the internet and 107.1FM. It’s because of generous listeners like you supporting the station that make these big changes possible! As a non-profit 501c-3, we're reliant on grants and donations from listeners and the community to operate the station. Please help CHIRP keep the station running with a donation!
Why I volunteer
In 2010, I discovered CHIRP Radio as a listener and then started volunteering for the station in 2015. I put in hundreds of hours every year because I believe we need community radio like CHIRP, especially in this moment with media consolidation, AI radio, and corporate control of what we see and hear. We need independent radio and independent voices from stations like CHIRP. That means I volunteer my time, my money (I am a monthly sustaining member), and my skills: marketing strategy, project management, copywriting, design, creating content, social media, reviewing music, and DJing & programming my weekly radio show.
CHIRP is my go-to station for discovering new (and old) music. It’s also the one station in town that has a strong focus on local Chicago music. At CHIRP, I enjoy discovering new music and then sharing it with others each week as a DJ. Since 2016, I have been a DJ for CHIRP on Monday nights from 6pm-8pm and also volunteer as the station's Marketing Director, helping to get the word out about CHIRP.
Please help support independent community radio in Chicago with a donation - thank you!
