Hello Friends.

It’s really happening!!! (That’s a valid use of exclamation points.)

On October 21, 2017 at noon CST, CHIRP will begin broadcasting on 107.1 FM in Chicago. An event ten years in the making. Perhaps it seems like more. But as people who say things say, “This is for real.”)

As people also say, this is expensive. The FM broadcast will cost our beloved listener-supported independent community radio station an additional $15k per year. That’s to cover stuff like transmitter fees, antenna maintenance, roof rents and other sexy-sounding expenses. 

Which is why I’ve come out of fundraising retirement to try to raise $107.10 to go towards CHIRP’s fall fundraising campaign goal of $25k. 

Why should you give? Well, maybe you love music you can’t hear anywhere else handpicked by live DJ’s (all volunteers) and uninterrupted by commercials. Maybe you love me and my occasional DJ appearances on CHIRP. Maybe you merely like me and not so much my DJ work. Maybe you like my dog Clarence. These are all worthwhile reasons. There are millions more but I’m far too lazy to list them.

As always, any amount is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. (Though I’m unsure if the online donation form will accept a gift of one cent.) All who donate will receive their choice of a one-of-a-kind photo of Clarence, a play date with Clarence or a lick on the face from Clarence.
