Last fall, I gathered with friends in a room and listened as static crackled, electricity flew through the air, and I heard the words "This is CHIRP Radio" come from the speakers as 107.1FM went live from our antenna in Chicago. It was a dream that I and other passionate community radio activists had worked for many years. Within hours, we began to get calls, emails and tweets from people just discovering the station, asking "Who ARE you?!"

If you appreciate the joy of discovering not only Chicago's best radio station with the most informed DJs playing the music they selected just for you, but also the cultural community that has been built up around CHIRP - our record fairs, First Time events, concerts, podcasts, blogs and community - I ask that you make a donation today to help keep us strong into the future.
