My CHIRP story began back in 2015, when I decided to make the switch from being an active listener to being an active volunteer. After attending my first meeting, I was hooked — and over three years later I'm as invested as ever; DJing on air every week, tabling at events around the city, designing marketing materials, writing album reviews, and stepping up alongside 250 other volunteers to make CHIRP the strong, independent community radio station that it is today!

Whether you are here because you're already a supporter of CHIRP (The Chicago Independent Radio Project), because you are a lover of good music, or because you know me and saw my ask for help — CHIRP needs your support!

We have been broadcasting great music online for years, and recently celebrated the one year anniversary of our terrestrial broadcast at 107.1FM (on Chicago's north side)! However, maintaining our broadcast tower has added thousands of dollars in additional costs each year. Our volunteers help to keep the station operating smoothly every day, but we need your financial contribution to ensure that it will continue happening for years to come.

We've been curating and promoting independent music, arts & culture for over 10 years, and our volunteer DJs always play great, commercial-free music; our focus on diverse, local, and underrepresented artists makes us something you won't find anywhere else.
