"This is Amanda Roscoe Mayo and you're listening to CHIRP Radio, I'm at [some venue] with [some awesome band]" That's how I start most of my interviews. I've been in this game for a while, working as a writer for various music outlets (I won't go into that here) and have always enjoyed talking to musicians, but CHIRP is different. I enjoy talking to musicians because it affords us the chance to see their art through their eyes, or offers a platform for their message, and often I get to connect with cool humans making super cool music that matters. That's why I joined CHIRP - because it is a music focused station that is all about the artists.

I'm a Features and Production Director and as a result I don't get to do too many interviews anymore, but we have an AWESOME team of eager and enthusiastic interviewers. We bring you a podcast / artist interview program every week and we take what we do seriously. We dig in and connect with the artists we play on the station and THAT is why I love CHIRP. It's a community, not only for those of us who give our time to our departments but for Chicago. We are a resource for curated music, live shows, events, record fairs, and original content. When I bump into people in my every day life and tell them I'm with CHIRP they know us and are excited by what we do without me even having to tell them. We might be small(ish) but we are mighty and are absolutely community driven.
