I began volunteering with ChIRP in March 2019 after listening for years on chirpradio.org and on the app because I wanted to do more for the station that helped connect me to so many great local artists and great, new bands. Having played in bands over the years (who can forget Los Shut Up or Let's Get Out of This Terrible Sandwich Shop!?) I understand the value of local community support. 

I love ChIRP so much I drew this mouth with bad teeth singing out in praise of the greatest station on the airwaves. 

I love ChIRP for the human DJ's who are just like you and me, playing music we love and want to hear, not predetermined by an algorithim born in a bohemoth corporate box based somewhere in Texas, gaining billions of dollars in annual revenue. CHIRP depends on donations from you and me, the listeners and supporters. And in doing so, ChIRP will continue to hold events, partner with local businesses, and play music that's fun, thoughtful, new and nostalgic, maybe even risky and weird. And I say, thank goodness for weird!!
