The Spring 2021 Fundraising Drive was the most successful in CHIRP's history, as we shattered our fundraising record. It was also my most successful campaign, easily exceeding prior ones. And my gosh, did we ever need it. With all that's going since March of last year, our ability to do in-person fundraisers has disappeared, including our annual Record Fair, which has now been postponed multiple times. So we are counting on donations from supporters again to keep this radio station running. Which is why I'm asking you to consider a contribution, in any amount to help me reach my goal of $2600 (stretched from $2500).

Your donation helps us pay our bills: streaming fees, rent on our studio and the rooftop on which our transmitter is located, licensing for the music, studio equipment, other equipment (like the air conditioners we've had to replace to keep things cool), cleaning supplies, so DJs can keep things sanitized, and other stuff. Getting those bills paid then allows us to do what we do best: go on the air live with DJs who curate their own shows, playing a great mix of local, independent music and sounds from all over the world, in many genres and styles, from many eras. CHIRP is an independent alternative to commercial radio, with a staff comprised almost exclusively of volunteers (well, we do have one paid employee). As the pandemic has marched on, and we've had few opportunities for volunteers to get together in person, I'm constantly amazed by everyone's commitment to keeping the station running during tough times. But it's worth it. As part of my commitment, I will match the first $700 in donations made in my name during this campaign.
