In 2020, CHIRP was ready for a 12-month long celebration of our first decade in providing community-focused independent media to Chicago. Obviously, that all changed very quickly early last March. Instead, like everyone else, we adapted to the situation and looked for opportunities to help. Beyond continuing to broadcast live DJs, we created and read PSAs for important local civil justice organizations and wrote complimentary ads for independent local businesses so our listeners would be aware of other folks that needed support.

In 2021, it's more of the same. While we have been able to get back into venues and celebrate at outdoor events, smart precautions are still essential and that continues to make fundraising and community engagement all the more challenging.

Building a community and nurturing it has been a focus of CHIRP from the very beginning, and it continues to guide our focus even when times get...challenging.
