CHIRP (Chicago Independant Radio Project), is a non-profit, volunteer driven, LISTENER SUPPORTED radio station based in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago. This October marks our five year anniversary of launching our terrestrial broadcast (107.1FM) after seven years as an online-only station (chirpradio.org). CHIRP features real DJs, no commercials and tremendously diverse music.

I’ve recently begun volunteering with CHIRP and I love being part of this organization. The station has been important to me for many years, because I can’t tune in for more than 20 minutes without discovering something completely new and amazing, Live radio truly is a treasure.

CHIRP is all about connection. Introducing you to local bands, offering chances to win concert tickets and getting you in touch with local non-profits and small businesses are some of the ways CHIRP benefits YOU as a listener.

We’ve got all kinds of fun stuff to present to you like the our annual Record Fair this Fall, the First Time storytelling event this November and the eventual return of CHIRP Night at The Whistler. For the first time in over two years, CHIRP is welcoming new volunteers (like me!) and new on-air voices. CHIRP is radio done right, and your support makes everything we have to offer possible.
