As an Assistant Music Director with CHIRP I've had the opportunity to bring local artists to the CHIRP airwaves. My heart swells with joy when one of those artists expresses deep gratitude to CHIRP for making their tracks available to our DJ's to be played and heard by our discerning listeners. As a CHIRP Dj, I've read emails from listeners thanking me for playing a certain set of music, thanking me for playing a track by their friends or spouse's band, or simply thanking me for being there every week. But even when I don't hear from listners, artists, or friends of artists, I know there's always someone listening with CHIRP in the background-- just like I do when I'm tuned to CHIRP at home or work. And as a listener, I'm always grateful to CHIRP for always being there- live, local, independent. No commercials. Real DJ's (with personalities!) I hope you'll give today to support independent radio, a dying medium worthy of keeping around and making strong for grateful listeners in the years to come.
