As we’ve rolled into 2024, there are some exciting things going on here at CHIRP, and I want to thank everyone who has donated in the past for helping make what’s on the horizon possible. The big news at CHIRP is we’re going to be doing are first significant studio upgrades since we started as a streaming station in 2010. 

Here’s the story: the most important piece of equipment in the studio is the board. Every source of audio (computers, turntables, CD players, auxiliary equipment) runs through the board. And the board we've been using in the main studio has served us well, but it's becoming outmoded. Nowadays, you need a digital board, because when you buy new equipment to run through the board (i.e., the stuff we play music on that we want you all to hear), it is designed to best work with a digital board. Well, we are finally going to upgrade the board, and let me tell you, we got a great deal on one. So great, we're going to get a smaller digital board for our production studio, which will make it easier for people training to be DJs to practice in the production studio. It's the type of development that's inevitable, and it's exciting that we'll be able to get it done this year.
