A POSTCARD FROM THE RESTAURANT AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE

For me, pulling music from the recorded Universe and compiling a weekly mixtape is an enjoyable adventure. It happens at CHIRP Radio, because a small group of visionaries got together and made it a reality — building out the spaces, going to the halls of Congress, securing FCC approval for Low Power FM, building a volunteer and donor base... it's an amazing feat; a communal effort.

I hope you are able to listen — to my show, or just to CHIRP in general — because our music is like the weather. If you don't like it, wait five minutes and it will change. We don't play commercials; we offer community-centered Public Service Announcements; we host upcoming artists, and a vinyl listening bar, and music trivia, and a music film festival.... we're out in the community at street festivals, and DJing at local bars, and welcoming artists in town on tour... and, oh yes, we have live DJs on the air, for local broadcast or worldwide streaming on Apps for car and phone, on TVs, on Alexa-type devices.... we can be everywhere you are.

It's a special place, this CHIRP Radio community. There are currently more than 250 active volunteers, and before them, hundreds more have put in their time, passion, and efforts to build us up.
