CHIRP Radio is all about community. Marites and Matt have each volunteered for CHIRP for more than 10 years now (wow!), and our shared love of music not only brought us together, but also made us a part of this really awesome community (check us out at Whirlyball!). We love DJing at the station and meeting other passionate music aficionados. In addition to his weekly show (Mondays 3-6pm!), Matt is a leader on the CHIRP Programming Committee and has trained new DJs in the art of creating an awesome and seamless radio show. Marites is the Outreach Director and a dedicated player on CHIRP's softball team (go Birds!)
Besides being our favorite independent community radio station, CHIRP brings a lot to the Chicago community at large, whether that's through the annual Record Fair or the new Music Film Festival, curating the live storytelling event the First Time, supporting local nonprofits with PSAs, or showcasing local music.
