Twice a year we at CHIRP Radio reach out to the outside community to help support our volunteer-driven radio station. We’ve been thrilled by the support over the years, and we need to ask for donations again.

You see, as a radio station, CHIRP is in its teenage years. We started broadcasting as a streaming station in 2010, over 14 years ago. As a streaming station, it was really important that we had a good website, both in terms of look and functionality. This is true even after we got our low power FM broadcasting license, as streaming is still a major part of how we reach people. Over the years, we’ve spruced up the website from time to time, but as we head towards 2025, the time has come to do a full revamp. And that takes a decent chunk of change.

During this Fall drive, we’re trying to raise $48,000. I’m going to try to do my part by raising $2000 on my fundraising page. And, as per usual, I’m going to show how much I support CHIRP by matching the first $700 in donations to my page.

Your donation will help us achieve our goal for revamping our web page, and will also help us with the expenses we have every month: rent, utilities, money to get what comes out of the studio to our transmitter, equipment, licensing fees, and so much more. CHIRP is a commercial free, low power FM radio station. We can’t run ads, so we rely on donations from folks like you to help us keep our original live, local programming, put together by volunteers from the community.
