Hi.

I'm asking you to contribute to one of my favorite places to find musical in the city of Chicago and around the world; CHIRP Radio. (107.1 on the FM dial)

As anyone who knows me knows, I love all kinds of music. Music is always playing in the house and as such my daughters have grown up with an appreciation of music as art, not just entertainment.  I argue there is a difference.  Consider the power of art on our lives and what that means.  For example, art fills the void with emotion when words don't suffice.  Art fills the hole in our souls after we suffer unimaginable pain or loss.  Art can also bring joy and make life better!  Art, and forgive me if I sound hyperbolic, but art has the power to change our lives.  Before the passing of my oldest daughter, Ainsley, last year, CHIRP changed my life. 

CHIRP was our go-to choice for discovering new music, old music we might not previously have appreciated and also sometimes just weird music that warranted a listen for listening's sake.  :)  CHIRP provided a shared interest and we would pull songs from their playlists to share with each other to provide a laugh, a message of support or just because the song sounded cool.  So, In honor of her memory and my love of CHIRP Radio's contributions to bringing musical art to Chicago and online across the globe, I joined CHIRP's Board.  

Again, I am appealing to you to please consider donating to CHIRP during our Fall pledge drive to further advance the goals of the organization to be Chicago's primary independent rock n' roll radio station to bring art to the world.  To give someone else out there (yourself?) the opportunity to bond with a loved one.  To change someone's life.
