Every CHIRP fundraising drive is another reminder to myself why I continue to volunteer for this lovely organization. As the corporatization and rent-seeking of the American music industry continues to devalue and de-emphasize music and musical experiences that are unique, communal, and left untouched by big business, we here at CHIRP are happily create our own personal mixtape for you, the fans and listeners, every single day. With a robust, pangenre mix of new and old, local and global, familiar and mysterious, we've cultivated a format that keeps its fanbase while expanding it to new generations, well into the organization's second decade. I'm thrilled to be a part of this group, and look forward to continuing the mission for the coming years, even showing the kid (seen here) the beauty of live, human radio.
