Hey look! This is me at 14, which how I old I was when I did my first radio show in high school. And I'm now 45 years older, and still doing a show, and it means a lot to me. And if CHIRP Radio means a lot to you, please consider a donation. I'm trying to raise $2000 and get 50 people to donate to my page.

Last fall, the main goal of the last CHIRP fundraising drive was to help fund an update of our webpage and phone app. We were very successful, meeting our goal, while I was able to exceed my personal goal, and CHIRP embarked on those updates (which will take a while to be done). But we still need to raise money to continue paying for the upgrade, while also dealing with all of our other regular expenses. But let’s be real here – because we are a community radio station that programs with live DJs from 6 a.m. to midnight or 3 a.m. every day, we’ll always have bills and repairs and equipment needs, etc. 

There is something more here that I want to note: CHIRP is an independent media voice that doesn’t rely on advertising. And it’s really evident, looking at the media landscape of our country, how important it is to have independent media. Whether it’s a music station like CHIRP, or station with talk or news or some other programming, community radio gives a voice to people who don’t have access to mainstream media. Your donation to CHIRP keeps an independent voice going, and provides our listeners with quality programming that helps make their days better. And holy cow, do we ever need things that make our days better.

So please help me meet my goal of $2000. As with other recent drives, I’m going to match the first $700 in donations to my fundraising page. It's hard to believe that it's been a decade and a half since we launched the station! Some things have changed a lot, but what's stayed the same is our commitment to bringing you live, local, commercial-free music programming lovingly curated by our DJs every single day, plus dozens of events that showcase our city's diverse music, arts and cultural scenes.

In 2025 we're celebrating our history while looking to the future, including rebuilding our website and mobile app into a sleek integrated web app that we know you'll love.
