It's that time again! Time for me to advocate on behalf of and seek support for my favorite non-profit, non-commercial, volunteer driven community radio station!!

CHIRP Radio comes at you LIVE EVERY DAY from Chicago's North Center neighborhood. All of our DJ's are volunteer, as are all the folks working behind the scenes to bring you exciting events and fun content! That's where I'm at currently, helping out with record fairs, event tabling, or reviewing records for our ever-expanding music library. There's so many moving parts to this operation, and all our volunteers contribute something different and unique to our organization. It's really such a joy to get to be a part of it.

And you can be a part of it too! We continue to exist in large part funded by generous donations from our friends, family, and community radio-lovers! CHIRP is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization funded primarily through individual giving, special event revenues, and grant support. Twice a year, we set a goal that will make up much of our budget for the year. A budget we use to bring you events like the Chirp Music Film Festival, Chirp Presents concerts, and storytelling shows like The First Time! It also helps us produce content like our podcast and artist interviews, and so much more!

We love music, and we love getting to share all the beautiful aspects of it with our community.

It's hard to believe that it's been a decade and a half since we launched the station! Some things have changed a lot, but what's stayed the same is our commitment to bringing you live, local, commercial-free music programming lovingly curated by our DJs every single day, plus dozens of events that showcase our city's diverse music, arts and cultural scenes.

In 2025 we're celebrating our history while looking to the future, including rebuilding our website and mobile app into a sleek integrated web app that we know you'll love.
