ANOTHER POSTCARD FROM THE END OF THE UNIVERSE

Creeping up on 130 shows and have only begun to scratch the surface (of a few records). Some DJs (like Alex Gilbert) are nine YEARS in, and some (like Shawn, Chesney, Jenny, Mike Bennet, and others) are the full 15+ of CHIRP's existence. No matter the length of volunteer time served, and whether we're on the air or behind the scenes, all of us at CHIRP are passionate about community radio. Our small but fierce Chicago Independent Radio Project family loves to keep you company, expose you to a diverse mix of sounds, and give you energy, or a calm space, or a laugh to help you get through the universal chaos.

Beyond our on-air broadcast, we're out in the community at local street fests, hosting events like the CHIRP Music Film Fest, First Time events, and Independents Day, welcoming audiences to local shows, offering deep-listening experiences at our monthly Both Sides Now listening bar, showcasing new and upcoming bands at The Whistler, and so, so, so much more.

There are more than 250 active volunteers driving the independent CHIRP Radio community, and before them, hundreds more.
