I've been volunteering with CHIRP since last spring and the organization inspires me. It is run by 270 volunteers and only one paid staff member. Every week I, along with many others, review music so it can go into the following week's rotation. I also sometimes help price cd's and records that listeners donate that get sold at some of our events, the proceeds of which go right back into the station. I've set up at one event and sold music at another, and I'm excited to keep doing more.

It's awesome that this station exists on the FM dial for a decent part of the Chicago area, and streams worldwide at chirpradio.org. It's even more awesome that it started in 2007 when people had the idea for an independent community radio station in Chicago and did so much work to make it happen with perseverence over the course of years.
