UPDATE! UPDATE!

Thanks to Allison, Blake, Sully, Corin and Garret and my excellent cousin Andrea for putting me past my $500 campaign goal! Beautiful people all around! Thanks as well to those of you who are stopping by to continue to contribute to this worthy cause. Since we're well on our way, let's intoduce a STRETCH GOAL of $600! I have no doubt we can peel off another hundy, no doubt whatsoever! Who's in?!

Thanks to Mikey, Josh and Dan for zooming me right to the 50% mark of my $500 goal (and after only one day)! If it keeps going like this, I'm gonna have to make a stretch goal. Wouldn't that be something?!

Hey peeps!

It's Fall which can only mean one thing, it's back to fundraising for America's nay, the world's favorite non-profit community radio station. CHIRP Radio!

This year was another biggie in CHIRPland. We put on special events such as Sounds Like Chicago (where I saw Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle eat hors d'oeuvres in person), Chicago Independents' Day (Toni couldn't make it, indigestion) and CHIRP's Music Film Fest (again, bad hors d'oeuvres).

None of these events are possible without your support. I'm not kidding when I say CHIRP receives one-third of it's monetary support from donations made by peeps like you. If not for your support, we'd be tanked, still cool, but tanked!

CHIRP succeeds in bringing the community together via a personal connection. A connection you can only make with real, human DJs curating day and night the soundtrack to your drive, meal prep and other random occurances.

 Here's just one example of what your donation will go towards: 

• We're building a brand new website and app!
  The site is getting a major update for the first time in 12 years and the app's being updated for the first time in six!
  We hope to launch both the site and app by Thanksgiving! Now you'll have plenty to talk about 

 Did you know? 

• CHIRP played music by more than 1900 different local artists last year?
• Stations CHIRP regularly gets compared to, like KEXP and the Current, have budgets that are more than fifty times larger than ours?
• CHIRP helped pass a bill through Congress that's resulted in more than 1000 new stations on the air across the country?
• CHIRP DJs create more than 6800 hours of live programming each year?
• CHIRP has more than a quarter of a million songs in our library -- and we add more every week?
•  CHIRP runs public service announcements for around 100 different local nonprofits each year?
• In addition to its on-air programming, CHIRP produces more than 40 special events each year?

CHIRP is especially important to me. I log a ton of hours, along with my fellow CHIRPers keeping this station as vibrant, unique and relevant as ever. Look, I hardly need to mention things are all over the place lately, but CHIRP acts as a respite from those things. CHIRP is a getaway in our lives where engagement means only to sit back and turn it up.
